An 18-year old Granite City woman has been charged with one count of first degree murder following an incident in a QuikTrip parking lot in Granite City over the weekend.Authorities responded to the scene in the 2100 block of Madison Avenue just after 1:30 a.m. Sunday and found that two individuals had been stabbed. Both victims were transported to Gateway Medical Center. The male victim, identified by the Madison County State's Attorney as Hugo Valenzuela, was flown to a St.Louis hospital and was later released. The female victim, identified as 20-year old Kaitlin N Juenger of Collinsville, was pronounced dead as a result of her injuries at 2:59 a.m.
The suspects fled the scene and were apprehended by Granite City Police a short time later. Breanna D. Maldonado (pictured, top) of the 2700 block of Nameoki Road in Granite City has been charged with one count of first degree murder and was ordered held without bond. 18-year old Antonio M Carlin (pictured, bottom) of St. Louis has also been charged with aggravated battery and is being held on $50,000 bond.
Funeral arrangements for Juenger are pending with Herr Funeral Home in Collinsville.
