A Granite City man will spend more than 12 years in prison for distributing methamphetamine according to the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois. Stephen R Wigginton announced the sentence that was handed down against 35-year old Ronald J. Wiggins last Wednesday. The sentence was handed down against Wiggin following his change of plea hearing last September, during which he pled guilty to federal charges including maintaining drug-related premises, distribution of methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
Upon his release from prison, Wiggins will also serve a term of three years of supervised release. The case was investigated by the Granite City Police Department and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency.
