A man from Granite City has been sentenced to nearly 16 years in federal prison. 38-year-old Louis R. Dochwat has been found guilty of charges related to the sale of methamphetamine.
Dochwat was charged with 1 count of Distribution of Methamphetamine and 1 count of Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine. At his change of plea hearing in December, he admitted to selling meth to a DEA informant on three separate occasions in 2013 and 2014. In total Dochwat sold approximately 3 quarters of an ounce of meth for $2000. Dochwat was originally arrested in October 2014 and because of his status as a “career offender” has remained in federal custody since. The Drug Enforcement Administration conducted the investigation that led to his conviction.
