After a two-year hiatus, the Grafton Towboat Festival - this year known as the Shiver Me Timbers Towboat Festival - will be back on the river this weekend. Dealing with issues from flooding to drought, the event was cancelled the past two years, and was even postponed earlier this year. Organizers say it's all systems go for Saturday and Sunday.
Alton Regional Convention & Visitor's Bureau spokesman Jong Cambron says the town's businesses are really getting behind the event too.
To learn more about the river, there will be environmentalists and historians at booths to give you an insight into the towboats on the rivers. There will also be plenty of live music and other promotions both days, from 11am-4pm, weather permitting.
