As the City of Grafton continues flood clean up efforts, municipal leaders are also looking to the future of business in the small river town. An updated comprehensive plan for the city was approved by the City Council last week. That plan includes the development of commercial and retail business outside of the area affected by flooding according to Grafton Mayor Tom Thompson
Mayor Thompson says that they have already been contacted by a few companies interested in developing some of the land near the fish processing plant. He did not want to mention any names but says that one of the companies is from Washington state and that they would have representatives visiting the area again in a few weeks continue the process.
