Illinois Governor Pat Quinn has put the kibosh on plans to bring a casino to Chicago.  Quinn vetoed a measure Monday that would have allowed casinos in the Windy City and four other cities, along with slot machines at Chicago airports.  Supporters of the measure say the revenue raised from such gambling sites would have helped economic growth in the state.

Quinn has been an outspoken critic of legalized gambling and said the bill did not present enough safeguards to prevent the influence of organized crime or other illegal activity.
