Democrat State Representative Brandon Phelps of Harrisburg says Quinn playing politics to get media attention.
He says Quinn is overstepping his boundaries but if the action was legal, it would put thousands of people out of work.
Phelps is pushing to legalize conceal carry in Illinois and plans to call that proposal for a vote this month. Quinn believes the ban would make the state a much safer place.
