Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul is stopping in Central Illinois tonight. He's holding a town hall meeting at U of I's Huff Hall at 7 p.m. The event was originally supposed to be in the Foelinger Auditorium but was moved because the original site wouldn't accommodate all the people expected to attend. Meanwhile, Rick Santorum is planning two stops on Saturday.
Santorum will appear at the Four Points by Sheraton hotel in Fairview Heights at Noon on Saturday, then make a campaign stop at Herrin High School Saturday night. A recent poll conducted by the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute puts Santorum ahead of the pack among his GOP rivals in Southern Illinois. A recent WGN/Chicago Tribune Poll showed Mitt Romney with 35-percent and Santorum pulling in 31-percent. Newt Gingrich placed third and Ron Paul fourth in the poll.
