Street crews continue a busy 2016 in Godfrey. The Capital Projects Committee came up with a prioritized list in March that listed seven streets that are slated for improvements, ranked according to the perceived level of importance. Many of the projects have been completed, according to Godfrey Mayor Mike McCormick.
He tells The Big Z the village just finished the milling and overlay project in Rock Gate subdivision.

He says this is the most ambitious year the city's street department has ever tackled. In other street news, McCormick says the railroad crossing at Bethany Lane will be closing within the next week as the higher-speed rail project works its way south.
