Numerous upgrades to Godfrey’s sewer system in recent years have not been accompanied by increases in your sewer bill, but that is about to change. The Godfrey Village Board has voted to increase rates by $2 per month to help generate funds for upgrades to the sewer plant.
Godfrey Special Projects Sewer Committee Chairman Jeff Weber tells The Big Z the last rate increase was in 2010.

He says there is a plan in place that could result in a couple of smaller projects at the plant being started fairly quickly, but other portions of the overall project would need to wait until engineering has been completed. Voting against the increase were trustees Sarah Johnes and Eldon "Twirp" Williams.
