The Village of Godfrey’s Park and Recreation Department is looking ahead to the new year, hoping a state grant will help improve Glazebrook Park on Stamper Lane. Earlier this year, a new bike and walking trail opened to connect each end of the park and there are ideas for what to place on the land in between.
Park and Recreation Department Director Kimberly Caughran says the soccer, baseball and softball leagues remain strong and youth basketball and volleyball programs continue to grow:

For Glazebrook Park there are ideas for more youth soccer fields and ball field for t-ball, along with additional parking, a new pond for fishing and an interior roadway. Caughran has also said as funding becomes available, they would like to one day bring lighting to the ball fields.
