After a two year absence, the Santa Train will be back in Godfrey tomorrow. Officially called the Holiday Express, the Kansas City Southern Railroad rerouted its path over the last couple of years to include more stops in Texas and Louisiana, but local organizers says those who enjoyed it here were very vocal in their displeasure.
As a result, the train will be back at its normal stop at the tracks on Pearl Street, according to organizer Keith Sherman.
Parking will be off-site, at Lewis & Clark Community College, with busses shuttling people back and forth. The Holiday Express also has a charitable component, with regular contributions to the local Salvation Army to provide warm clothing and other necessities for children in need. The Holiday Express will stop in Godfrey tomorrow at 4pm.
