About a year and a half ago, Godfrey hired the services of a marketing firm to help the village lure new business to town. North Star Destination Strategies has developed brands for more than 150 entities, and recently did the same in Godfrey. With the rollout now within sight, the Village is considering hiring a branding consultant.
The ultimate goal is to attract more businesses, residents and visitors to the area. Godfrey Mayor Mike McCormick tells The Big Z what the term branding means in this case.

The contract with North Star Destination Strategies cost $76,000, which was being paid for via the Business District Tax Fund. Details on how a branding consultant would be paid, or if one is needed, will be discussed at the Finance Committee Meeting tonight (Monday) at Village Hall just after 6pm.
