Another re-write of the gambling expansion bill in Illinois is under way.   The feature State Rep. Bob Rita (D-Blue Island), the new House sponsor, is discussing is a reduced tax structure.  The only bracket which would be unchanged is the one for casinos with annual adjusted gross receipts of $800 million or more.  That's the top bracket, and none of the state's 10 existing casinos earn even half that.

The bill, Rita says, would still feature casinos for Chicago, the north and south suburbs, Rockford and Danville, as well as slot machines at horse tracks. Existing casinos would get more positions, too.
