State Representative Jerry Costello (pictured) wants to make sure mourning military families have the peace they deserve. He's sponsoring a bill that would make sure protestors don't interrupt the funeral services for fallen soldiers.
Costello says the bill is directly aimed at the Westboro Baptist Church. Right now, the protestors can show up as early as 30-minutes before and after a funeral. And, they can get as close to 300-feet to the entrance of the funeral site. But Costello's bill would make it so they couldn't protest within an hour of the funeral and it would push them back to one thousand feet away from the site entrance. The bill has passed in the House and now heads to the Senate.
