A former East Saint Louis cop is headed to prison for two-and-a-half years. Ramone Carpenter was convicted of soliciting sex from a female driver he'd pull over for driving under the influence of alcohol last year. The U.S. Attorney says Carpenter touched the victim in very inappropriate places. He never called the traffic stop in to the dispatcher.
And later drove the victim to Jones Park, where she performed a sex act on him. The victim testified at a hearing yesterday, telling the judge she performed the sex act on Carpenter because she was afraid she'd go to jail and lose custody of her four children.
