A former high school track coach has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for secretly video recording female students. 44-year-old Timothy Going of Fairfield received his sentence Monday in federal court in East St. Louis after pleading guilty last fall.
Prosecutors say the investigation began last May after a janitor at Fairfield High School found a video camera inside a girls locker room stall. During the investigation, Going admitted to placing cameras in hotel rooms used by the girls in Pontoon Beach and Edwardsville when the team was attending track meets at SIU-Edwardsville in 2012 and 2014. Going pleaded guilty last September to attempted sexual exploitation of minors and possession of visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct in exchange for the 20-year sentence.
