With flu activity picking up in Illinois, the state Department of Public Health is urging families to make sure they get their flu shot. Flu season typically peaks in January and February, so public health director Dr. Lamar Hasbrouck says it's definitely not too late to get your flu shot.
But what about concerns that the current vaccine doesn't cover all strains of the virus?

Hasbrouck also reminds you can't get the flu from the flu shot. People with flu symptoms should stay home for 24 hours after the fever is gone.
