The Illinois Department of Transportation has been dealing with flooding for much of the past month, and that has put some of their routine maintenance behind schedule. This time of year is traditionally the busy time for mowing, spraying and patching but moving barricades and closing roads has taken state crews away from much of that work.
So IDOT Engineer Joe Monroe tells The Big Z they are now playing catch up.
