Most areas of Illinois are still waiting for their first snowfall. Usually by now, all but far southern Illinois has seen at least a little snow. State climatologist Jim Angel says that certainly hasn’t been the case this year.
In fact, the first half of December has been warmer than November in Illinois, with an average temperature of 42 degrees. That’s more than nine degrees above normal. Chicago and areas of northern Illinois are gearing up for what could be a major snowfall tomorrow.
