Fire Safety Week is being recognized with an open house Sunday at the Alton Fire Department Don Twitchell Memorial Fire Station on E. 20th Street. The theme of this year's Fire Prevention Week is "Working Smoke Alarms Save Lives, Test Yours Every Month!"
Deputy Fire Chief Mark Harris says he hopes the public will come out to meet the staff and check out the equipment and displays.
