The Village of Godfrey is making plans to extend its sewer service to the Humbert Road and Illinois 255 area, and it's a project that will cost six-figures to complete. There are two options on the table, with one costing more than twice what the other costs. Which direction to go will be hashed out at tonight's Finance Committee meeting.
Trustees will be choosing how much of the sewer project to complete. One option is to take the 30 inch sewer line all the way from where it will hook on near the Wal Mart store to the intersection on Humbert just south of the Lewis & Clark grade school at an estimated cost of $256,000. The other stops after running the line under the tracks, and will cost about $122,000. Trustee Mike Stumpf says if you want to have a voice in how the village spends its money, the Finance Committee Meeting is a must-see.
You need to register to speak in advance, by contacting the Village Clerk's office at 466-3381. Tonight's meeting follows the Public Safety Committee Meeting at 6pm.
