A St. Louis man is jailed on a $75,000 bond after he allegedly stole from his Wood River employer. Police say 42-year-old John Paul Jones , of the first block of Scenic Cove Lane, illegally pocketed over $10,500 while employed as a Sub-Prime Finance Manager at Auto Centers Nissan. Deputy Chief Michael Sabolo with the Wood River Police Department says the investigation began as the result of an audit performed by the company.
Jones is accused of perpetrating the thefts between November of last year and this month, and is charged with theft over $10,000. He says the investigation continues, and they should be able to put a final number on the amount stolen within the next week. Even if more money is discovered to be missing, Sabolo doubts that would lead to enhanced charges.
