Two Riverbend men could spend the rest of their lives in jail if convicted on federal child pornography charges.  60-year-old Michael E. Myers of Godfrey and 27-year-old Steven A. Yon of East Alton were indicted on separate incidents this week in federal court for their alleged crimes.

Myers is facing charges of Distribution of Child Pornography and Receipt of Child Pornography.  It is alleged that earlier this year he knowingly distributed and received video images containing child pornography.  Yon is charged with Production of Child Pornography and Receipt of Child Pornography.  It is alleged that is August of 2014 he knowingly induced a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purposes of producing a visual depiction of that conduct, and that and a few days later received similar video materials.  Yon could face up to life in prison if convicted on the production charge, while Myers could be sentenced to up to 40 years in prison if convicted on either of his two charges.
