An investigation into the death of a 3-month old South Roxana has resulted in criminal charges against her father. Calie Pride was found unresponsive underneath her father, Jeremy W. Pride, in November. She was pronounced dead at Alton Memorial Hospital about an hour later.
He is now charged with felony endangering the life of a child. According to the charge, he passed out on top of her while under the influence of alcohol. Results of a forensic autopsy show that the death was consistent with an overlay situation, and a Madison County Coroner's Jury ruled the death a homicide last month. Jeremy Pride is in custody at the Madison County Jail after turning himself in late Friday. Bond is set at $50,000.
