It was not known at the time, but last fall's 32nd annual "Heritage Days on the Goshen Trail" at Lewis and Clark Community College was to be the last one. Citing a variety of factors, much of it the cost of putting on the event, the board of directors has elected to disband the event.
Event spokesperson Jan Copeland says looking back, the writing was on the wall.
The living history festival took visitors back to the era of 1700-1840, giving them an opportunity to experience what prairie life was like by featuring folk dancers and singers, fifes and drums, dulcimer players, a storyteller, folk musicians, children's activities, and hands-on quilting.
