The family of three murder victims are again trying to have the bodies transferred to a different Illinois cemetery. Relatives have filed legal action to exhume the bodies of Sheri Coleman and her two sons from Chester to Cook County. They want the bodies relocated because the current cemetery is located too close to the family of the man who killed them.
A judge struck-down an attempt to exhume the bodies last year. Chris Coleman was convicted of three counts of first-degree murder last year for slaying his wife, 31-year-old Sheri Coleman, and their two sons, 11-year-old Garett, and 9-year-old Gavin, in 2009 in their Columbia home. Prosecutors alleged he killed his family to move to Florida and start a new life with his mistress. Coleman has will spend the rest of his life in prison.
