The Village of Godfrey holds its own Fourth of July party this year with fireworks at dusk and the annual Family Fun Fest moved to this evening. The event is mostly free, with the exception of any food and drink you'd like to purchase, or you can make it a picnic and bring out the family before the fireworks.
Recreation Supervisor Jessica Wiedman says they will have a full event starting at 5pm:
There are a few paid attractions including a dunking booth featuring coaches and umpires from the ball league, and that is 3 throws for $1. There will also be a charge for the wrecking ball and the baseball throw games. The fireworks over the lake at the park will begin around 9:15.
