Mild days and cool nights are the perfect weather for great fall colors, according to most experts in the field. Alton Regional Convention and Visitor's Bureau spokesman Jong Cambron says the fall colors are enjoyed by many by driving the different routes, but he is looking forward to seeing the beauty from 150 feet in the air.
Cambron says Saturday from 10am to 4pm is "Colors over the Confluence," complete with a small farmer's market on site, at the tower in Hartford:
Peak time for the fall colors in the Riverbend is traditionally toward the end of October, but this year, Cambron expects colors to be at their peak in about a week. For more information, call 465-6676.
