Construction on the grounds of the Gateway Arch will force one of the largest 4th of July celebrations in the country to move to another location. Fair Saint Louis will be held in Forest Park in 2014, specifically Art Hill, on July 3rd,4th, and 5th next year. Headlining concerts, a Kids Zone, food vendors and fireworks will all be a part of the celebration, which will be the 34th for St. Louis.
It's only the second time the fair has been moved from the St. Louis riverfront. The other was in 2008, when Fair Saint Louis was held at the Soldier's Memorial downtown due to flooding on the Mississippi. The 2014 edition will place the concert stage at the bottom of Art Hill, and will also feature the Veiled Prophet Parade and a family run-walk in Forest Park the morning of July 4th. Additional details on the event will be announced in the new year. Officials with the Fair Saint Louis Foundation say the plan is to return to the Arch grounds once the multi-million dollar renovations are complete.
