Illinois’ chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council is working to make schools across the state leaders in energy conservation.   The Green Apple Day of Service is a day to focus on energy and resource conservation in schools. Katie Kaluzny, director of the U.S. Green Building Council’s Illinois chapter, says while not all schools have the funds to be LEED certified, there are things schools can do to be more environmentally friendly.
