The Madison County Health Department continues to encourage local residents to prepare for disasters of both the natural and man-made variety. The agency's Emergency Response Coordinator says in a large-scale disaster, trained volunteers with a variety of skills will be needed, so they are putting out a call for volunteers before their next training session later this month.
There are over 300 volunteers associated with the program already. Amy Yeager, Health Promotion Manager, says if you can’t attend the training session on March 23, you can still get involved.

Yeager says everyone from clerical helpers to dentists to journalists could be called upon in a time of need.
