After taking a break last year, the Village of Elsah will welcome visitors again for the annual Home for the Holidays home tour and Christmas celebration on Saturday. Known as the "village where time stood still," Elsah was the first village in its entirety to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and it retains its historic charm and picturesque beauty today.

Brenda Coffman at the Green Tree Inn in Elsah, says you can take a stroll back in time for a glimpse of early Americana as you tour select homes in Elsah.

Coffman comments

The homes will be open for touring from 3:00 to 5:45pm, followed by a caroling procession and tree lighting at 6:30. Tickets for this event are $15 and may be purchased at the Alton Visitor's Center, at several businesses in Elsah, or, after 1pm on the day of the tour, at either the Village Museum or at Farley's Music Hall where you will also find a special meal service for an additional cost of $10.
