The drama in the Alton mayor's race is apparently over and the numbers in the race will stand as originally counted. Mayor Tom Hoechst's vote total was 1,779, 74 less than Brant Walker's 1,853. Hoechst has released a statement saying he plans to file a request for "Discovery" with the Madison County Clerk.
Madison County Clerk Debbie Ming-Mendoza explains what the process involves.

Hoechst's statement goes on to say that he and Walker have met to discuss issues such as the Wadlow site development and the Riverfront hotel & convention center project. Hoechst also stated that he has not and will not wait until the process is completed before he begins working with Walker on a smooth transition in the event the current margin holds in Walker's favor.
