A 54-year old Edwardsville man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for knowingly receiving child pornography. The one-count indictment alleges that Christopher P. Hill used a computer and a peer-to-peer file sharing program to download thousand of images and video files containing child pornography.

Hill pleaded not guilty during his arraignment hearing on Tuesday. He was ordered released on a $20,000 unsecured bond with the conditions that include electronic monitoring, having no unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 18, and no access to the internet.

Hill faces a minimum sentence of five years but could serve as many as 20 years in prison if convicted. He will also be ordered to pay a $250,000 fine and supervised release for life. The trial is currently scheduled to begin September 9, 2013.
