A 30-year-old East Alton man that pleaded guilty to child porn charges earlier this year has been sentenced to more than ten years in prison.  Brandon C. Seymour entered a guilty plea to receipt of child pornography and possesion of child pornography, following an undercover investigation in April of 2011.  In addition to the jail time, he will spend 10 years supervised release, and pay a series of fines totaling $800.

According to information provided by the United States Attorney's office, Seymour offered to share the illegal images with an undercover investigator, who wound up downloading 23 images from Seymour's computer.  After obtaining a warrant, an officer siezed computer and video equipment from Seymour's home in early June.  The computer contained more than 1,000 videos of child pornography, including the 23 that had been downloaded by the undercover officer.  He could have faced 20 years in prison for the reciept of child pornography charge, 10 years for the possession charge, and a $250,000 charge for each.
