An East Alton man who phoned in 3 false bomb threats to the Home Depot in Alton earlier this year has been sentenced to 15 months imprisonment. 33-year-old Jeremy R. Colwell pleaded guilty to three counts of Conveying a False Threat in July.
Colwell was arrested and charged after he called in the false threats on February 16, April 2 and April 4 of this year. In all three cases, police were called and the store was either evacuated or the building was searched. No items were ever found. In addition to the 15 months behind bars Colwell will serve 3 years of supervised release and has been ordered to pay a $100 special assessment.
