The Alton Regional Convention and Visitor's Bureau is bringing back a popular contest it first tried last year. You can become an "Official Alton Eagle Watcher" beginning with the Alton Eagle Festival on Saturday, January 5. At that event, you can receive your eagle watcher's card.
Alton CVB President Brett Stawar says as you visit the eagle watching hot spots, a Visitor Center representative will initial your card.
He says you will need to visit five out of the six eagle watching hot spots that have visitor centers on-site. These include: Pere Marquette State Park, Two Rivers National Wildlife Center at Swan Lake, Alton Visitor Center, Audubon Center at Riverlands, Melvin Price Locks & Dam/National Great Rivers Museum or Lewis & Clark Confluence Tower.
