A 25-year-old Jerseyville woman is charged with DUI and improper lane usage after finding her car stuck on a metal pipe early Saturday morning. Ashley L. Bridgewater was picked up by the Illinois State Police around 1am March 24 near the intersection of Baxter Avenue and Exchange Street.
According to information provided by the Illinois State Police, Bridgewater was traveling northbound on Baxter Avenue approximately 10 feet south of West Exchange Street in Jerseyville when it turned left on to West Exchange. Her car went off the roadway to the left hitting the property fence at Prairie Land Power. She backed up on to Baxter Avenue, headed north and went off the roadway to the right almost hitting a house. She then backed up on to Baxter Avenue again, then turned left on to West Exchange heading east, went through a ditch on the north side of the road and hit a house. She backed up and went across West Exchange into the entrance of Graham's Storage breaking open locked security fence, and went off the concrete lot through the security fence into the backyard of another residence, striking the garage. She then pulled forward and got stuck on a metal pipe in the yard of that residence.
