Two Godfrey roommates are in jail facing a number of felony drug charges following a large bust last week. The Madison County Sheriff's Department arrested 25-year-old William A. Noe and 22-year-old Ashley A. Welch both of the 2,700 block of Queen Street last Friday. They are now charged with unlawful possession of cannabis with the intent to deliver, unlawful possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, and unlawful delivery of a controlled substance (cocaine) while located within 1000 feet of a church.
Captain Mike Dixon of the sheriff's department describes what was allegedly found in the basement apartment.
He says while he has seen bigger cache's of drugs, this would put the two suspects in the realm of the larger dealers he has seen. Both are being held on $500,000 bond.
