Phillips 66 has donated $100,000 to the City of Wood River to help build a handicapped-accessible walking trail around Wright Lake at Belk Park. The donation happened recently after the city contacted Melissa Erker at the refinery.
City Manager Jim Schneider says it will cost about $200,000 to create the trail, so Park & Recreation Director Jason Woody will be looking for ways to cover the rest.
