An Illinois doctor is charged with sexual misconduct following an incident last year in St. Louis County. 63-year-old Roger A. Schroeder of Jerseyville was charged with the misdemeanor after a witness told authorities that he saw Schroeder fondling himself inside an antique store last October.
The St. Louis Post Dispatch reports Schroeder was inside Big Bend Antiques in the 2300 block of South Big Bend in Maplewood on October 10 when a male customer says he saw Schroeder fondling himself while sitting on a couch in the store. The witness says Schroeder then pulled up his pants, asked the customer not to say anything, and walked out. The report says the man called police and officers found Schroeder a short time later at a convenience store. At the time he was issued a summons for exposing himself, but was released. The formal charges were filed in the case on December 23. His attorney says he denies the current accusations. Schroeder, a gynecologist, was charged in 2006 in Jersey County with aggravated criminal sexual abuse after two patients claimed he assaulted them while they were in his office. Schroeder denied the accusations in court, and was acquitted during a jury trial in Sangamon County later that year. He currently has a medical office in Carrollton.
