The Edwardsville School District has announced it has received a $4 million donation from an Edwardsville native for construction of an indoor swimming facility. An additional $1.3 million will come from the fundraising foundation of the district for a total of $5.3 million for the new aquatic center at the District 7 Sports Complex.
The donor has not been named, but is expected to be introduced on Monday during a district news conference. The aquatic center will reportedly be constructed next to the Jon Davis Wrestling Center. The sports complex sits across the street from Edwardsville High School on Center Grove Road.
