A developer is reportedly interested in property near the end of Highway 255 in Godfrey, possibly for a hotel and other retail businesses. The location is the former Hood's property but whether this leads to development soon, or at some point in the future, may depend upon sewer service to the area.
The Godfrey Village Board has approved $3,000 be spent on an evaluation by the Sewer Department to see what would be needed to run sewer service to the front end of the property. Godfrey Mayor Mike McCormick says a developer contacted him last week.
The land is located near the construction of Highway 255 and the split of Highway 67 and 267/111.
