The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced daytime closures of the Kampsville Ferry starting today. The ferry between Greene and Calhoun counties will be closed between 6am and 6pm each day this week so repairs can be made to the approach roads.
The approaches on each shore suffered damage due to flooding on the Illinois River earlier this year. IDOT will still operate the ferry during nighttime and early morning from 6pm to 6am. Signs are posted on the approach roads to notify motorists of the closure. Roadwork is expected to be finished by this Friday, October 9.
