In the wake of Illinois' denial for federal disaster assistance for the counties severely impacted by the December flooding, one local congressman has met with the head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency. Congressman Rodney Davis (R-Taylorville), met with FEMA Administrator William Fugate, and tells The Big Z it was a productive first meeting.

Davis (R-Taylorville), along with many other members of the state's congressional delegation, recently helped pass the FEMA reform bill. He says it is his hope the U.S. Senate will consider the House legislation quickly "before another major disaster strikes."
