Local tourism officials are gearing up for the fall colors, even though experts disagree how long or how vivid they may be thanks to the mild summer and recent wet weather.  Stephanie Tate, Alton Regional Convention and Visitor's Bureau spokesperson, says the changing leaves are one of the area's biggest draws during the fall, and the CVB office can point you in the right direction if you are looking for a road trip.

The three main routes promoted by the CVB takes visitors along the river, through the country and looping across the ferries to see the best colors of the fall season, but Tate stresses you can see great colors nearly anywhere.  For more information, call 465-6676 or go to www.visitalton.com
