The Liberty Bank Alton Amphitheater is wrapping up its sixth year of operation, and the city’s plan of bring in bigger names appears to have rejuvenated the energy at the facility. The venue had been a haven for tribute acts over the past couple of years, but a new promoter mixed things up in 2014, and it would appear to have been a successful mix.
Amphitheater Commission member and Alton Regional Convention and Visitor's Bureau President Brett Stawar says the Amphitheater Commission will take a look at the numbers soon and see if the math backs up their observations.

The venue annually hosts a variety of concerts, including the The Big Gig and today’s Mississippi Earthtones Festival. This year’s big acts included John Michael Montgomery, Kenny Rogers, and the Under the Sun Tour with Sugar Ray, Smashmouth, Uncle Cracker and Shinedown. Independent promoters recently brought in Elvin Bishop and a number of other acts for River Jam 2014.
