The Madison County portion of your property tax bill for 2016 will be going down. Following final calculations, the tax rate will drop by 3.5% according to the Madison County Board Chairman.
Alan Dunstan tells The Big Z the tax levy will be reduced by about $800,000.
He says this reduction will not effect services provided by the county, noting the levy is $7.7-million under the maximum allowed by law.
