Half of the population of the United States lives within 750 miles of the Riverbend and leaders in Madison County hope an appointment made last week will put the county in a better position economically. Austin Korns, who previously worked with America’s Central Port, has been tabbed as an Economic Development Specialist for county’ economic development team according to Madison County Board Chairman Alan Dunstan.
He tells The Big Z that the timing is perfect for this type of addition.

Dunstan says Korns’ responsibilities will include the identification, administration and coordination of economic development programs in Madison County, including project feasibility, eligibility, and implementation in the areas of manufacturing, agriculture, tourism, and transportation.
